Sulfates are called surfactants, a compound used for detergent, emulsifier, foaming agents, and wetting agents. They’re used because they spread the liquid on our hair, creating a foam that cleans and removes oil and dirt from our hair. Surfactants are a chemical that eliminates keratin in hair that can cause our hair to be dry and breakable.
